New Website Community for Hampshire Partnership NHS Trust

Hampshire Partnership NHS Trust is in the process of developing a new community of websites to provide on-line services and information for the local community and beyond.

The Trust who specialise in mental health and learning disability services wanted to redevelop their current site to offer visitors a fully compliant site in line with accessibility standards and the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act.

In addition to the website the Trust will also create a new Intranet which will form a central hub of information and encourage the sharing of knowledge between thousands of staff throughout the Trust.

After a formal tender process Hampshire have invested in the EasySite™ Content Management system from EIBS.

Terry Rydzynski, Web Editor for the Hampshire Partnership comments “we chose EasySite™ as they already have an extensive client base within the NHS so we knew that they would understand and meet our requirements effectively”

EasySite™ has been developed with the public sector in mind, enabling non-technical users to create and maintain websites intranets and extranets with incredible ease.

Hampshire Partnership Trust along with numerous other NHS organisations utilise functionality such as the integrated asset manager which enables them to upload, store, share and retrieve an unlimited number of documents and multimedia files.  The Trust meets the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act by classifying which assets can be searchable by the public and categorising them by the various FOI classes.

“Our hopes for the new website are not only to provide up to date information for our visitors but the opportunity for interaction with the Trust and one another through functionality such as the discussion forum”

“We also plan on using EasySite™ to introduce a range of microsites for the different parts of our organisation.  We can do this using one copy of the software and each site can have its own design and domain name – in affect we will be creating a whole new community of websites covering all aspects of health issues within the Trust” comments Terry.
