Gosport Borough Council

Gosport Borough Council work together with the community to improve the quality of life whilst aiming to establish a sustainable future for the Borough.

The Requirement

Originally the council website consisted of approximately 400 pages and was managed by one Webmaster, who was responsible for the entire content of the site.

Gosport wanted to enable other non-technical members of staff within the council to contribute to the management and future development of the site.

Gosport Home Page

The Solution

After an initial tender process Gosport chose EasySite content management system to maintain both their Internet and Intranet.

EasySite was chosen over various other content management systems as it is easy to use and provided the foundation for meeting the 2005 e-government requirements.

It is possible for users to interact with the council by providing feedback on both the website and other council services. The citizen’s portal enables member of the public to register and view personal details about three main subjects Council Tax, Housing Benefits and Housing Rents.

EasySite CMS is compatible with other third party integrations, for example Gosport use Mandoforms as a form manager utility to enable the public to report such issues as abandoned cars.
