EIBS PROVIDE CONTENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL

East Riding of Yorkshire Council

9th October 2007 - EIBS LTD, one of the UK’s principle content management providers, is pleased to announce a new partnership with East Riding of Yorkshire Council.  EasySite CMS™ has been chosen to power the Council’s website.

East Ridng of Yorkshire Council aims to improve the quality of life for the local community and aims to build pride in belonging to the East Riding of Yorkshire.  The Council has a number of priorities focusing on; safe and stronger communities, healthier communities and older people, sustainable communities and transport, and children and young people.  The Council also aims to be a well managed authority.

EasySite CMS™ was chosen for its ease of use, compliance with e-Government standards and its flexibility to work with existing back-office applications.  EIBS and East Riding of Yorkshire Council have worked together to ensure integration with key elements of the website such as ‘MyEastriding’; which provides personalised access to Council services and local information.

In addition EasySite’s Application Programming Interface will allow the Council to build bespoke functional enhancements to the site to achieve further integration with back-office applications.

EIBS and East Riding of Yorkshire Council are also working in partnership to further enhance the EasySite existing taxonomy engine. The result will enable content to be categorised against the IPSV, LGNL and LGSL (or any combination of the three), as well as taxonomies defined internally by the Council. This will enable visitors to navigate to content (including Service information) via a variety of different navigation options.

“We’re extremely pleased to have been chosen by East Riding of Yorkshire Council to power their site.  EasySite’s flexibility has enabled the integration of existing website functionality and other back-office applications which is imperative to the success of the website.  We are looking forward to working with the Council to meet their website goals.” Commented David Walsh, Sales Consultant for EIBS.

“Working with EIBS the Council will build on the success of MyEastriding to further enhance personalised content tailored to the individual.  The integration facilities within EasySite enable the Council to seamlessly integrate front and back office systems.  Coupled with improved information management processes, managed through EasySite, the Council will provide a website which is easy to access, easy to use, easy to read and up to date. “ Commented Kevin Woodcock, ICT Programme Manager for East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
